There are six motels and one hotel in the Grand Canyon National Park south rim area. There are eight hotels/motels in Tusayan, 10 miles from the south rim, one mile outside of the National Park entrance.

Inside Grand Canyon National Park

Room rates are set by the National Park Service and can be changed from time to time. Most facilities are rustic lodges. El Tovar is a Hotel. All lodges are within walking distance of the South Rim.

1 Hotel Name: Bright Angel Lodge

Location: South Rim
89 rooms cabin/bungalow. Opened in 1936. Bright Angel Lodge is the check-in point for the world famous Grand Canyon Mule Rides. Two restaurants, a gift shop, lounge, and history room.

Room type: Lodge Rooms: one bed, telephone, no TV, some without a private bath. Cabin Rooms: television and private bath, telephone, one bed.

2 Hotel Name: El Tovar Hotel

Location: South Rim
78 rooms hotel. Opened in 1905, renovated in 1998. Located on the Grand Canyon south rim. One fine Dining Room, lounge and curio shop with newsstand. Concierge, turn-down and room services available.

Rooms in this popular hotel are normally booked up in advance. Four months advance reservations are highly recommended.

3 Hotel Name: Kachina Lodge

4 Hotel Name: Maswik Lodge

Location: 1/4 mile from the South Rim
278 rooms motel, located ¼ mile from the south rim, has a cafeteria, a sports bar with a wide screen TV, a curio shop, and a transportation/activities desk. Most rooms have two queen beds, a full bath, telephone, and television. Roll-aways are available.

5 Hotel Name: Moqui Lodge

Location: 6 miles from the South Rim
Located just outside the National Park entrance in the Kaibab National Forest, 6 miles from Canyon rim, this 136 rooms motel has a transportation/activities desk, curio shop, a beauty salon, and a dining room. The rooms have either one or two double beds, television, telephone, and private bath. This lodge is open from April through October.

Location: 1/2 mile from the South Rim
358 rooms motel, located ½-mile from the south rim, next to the Mather Business Center, which includes a general store, bank, and U.S. Post Office. It is also very close to the National Park Service Visitor Center. This lodge has a Cafeteria, a curio shop and a transportation/activities desk. All rooms have either two double beds or two queen Beds, television, telephone, and full baths. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are available.

Hotels/Motels in Tusayan

10 miles from the South Rim, one mile outside of the National Park entrance. Compared with the rustic lodges inside the National Park, these are modern hotels or motels. If you have a car, it is convenient to stay in these hotels to visit the Grand Canyon. Since the National Park Admission is valid for seven days, it does not cost you more to reenter the Park.

It is located 1 mile from the Grand Canyon National Park entrance, about 10 miles from the south rim.

Air tours, jeep rides, raft trips, horseback riding can be arranged from the hotel. Free continental breakfast from 6:30am to 9:30am

Lodge at the North Rim
Inside Grand Canyon National Park

Room rates are set by the National Park Service and can be changed from time to time. The North Rim is located about 200 miles from the South Rim. Take Highway 67 to the Lodge.

200 rooms motel, a National Historic Landmark, located on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The Lodge has rustic motel rooms and cabins, a magnificent dining room with a view of the canyon, a sun room, snack shop, saloon and a gift shop. The area also has a campground, camper store, service station and laundromat. The lodge is open from Mid-May to Mid-October.

Motel rooms feature one queen bed, private bathroom and telephone. Western Cabins have two queen beds, full bath,separate/private entrance. Frontier Cabins have one double bed and one single bed, a 3/4 bath and telephone. No television, no air conditioning, no pets or cooking allowed in all rooms.

From Grand Canyon South Rim: Go east to Cameron 57 miles. Go north on Highway 89 to Junction 89A. Go north on Highway 89A to Jacobs Lake. Take Highway 67 to the Lodge. approx. 4 hours / 214 miles

From Zion: Take Highway 9 east to Highway 89. Take Highway 89 south to Highway 67. Take Highway 67 to the Lodge. approx. 2 hours 30 mins. / 119 miles.
